Cary is a wonderfully cosmopolitan city adjacent to Raleigh, the capital of North Carolina. What drives the market though is the Triangle Research Park directly north of Cary. The influence and concentration of this workforce changes the face of this city. Today, with over 162,000 residents, it has been one of the fastest growing cities in the country. Next up will be Belle, located downtown in the historic Jones House dating back to the 19th century. Featuring a menu where everything is sourced locally, you can enjoy brunch on the weekend, a sandwich during the week and some real surprises for the evening meal with excellent pairings.
Switching over to seafood we recommend Dean’s Seafood Grill and Bar. The fresh catch menu is up to eight difference types of fish now a week. Every visit might be different at Dean’s. They also have oysters, clams, mussels and crab.
Luck 32 Southern Kitchen takes us back to American Southern cuisine and inventive local dishes. Try the sweet potato dried pie, the oyster pan stew or the North Alabama chicken bread for samplers.
An authentic French bakery that follows century old baking traditions and techniques is La Farm Bakery. 15 different styles of bread are baked throughout the year with 20 changing seasonal additions. The shop and café offer a myriad of various pastries and creative delicacies.
For the best in fine dining you need to try Herons. Located in the Ulmstead Hotel and Spa they offer mouthwatering American cuisine with a soft and subtle Southern influence. The vibrant menu features fruits, vegetables and herbs all grown locally. This venue features also a very picturesque view of the lake and surrounding grounds to compliment your dining experience.
To step out of the box and try some hearty Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine you can visit Bosphorus. The atmosphere is humble but the menu is bold and aromatic.
To jump on a recent national craze you can let your hair down at Clouds Brewing. Featuring quality craft beers from around the country with over 90 varities in total. You can enjoy comfort foods like wings, nachos or a bratwurst.
Also in the beer and sports category is Spirits Pub and Grub. You don’t want to stop at Spirits if you are watching your waistline. Here is an example to reinforce that observation, beer infused cheese mac with candied bacon.
To take another trip out of the box try Udupi Café and taste some authentic Southern Indian vegetarian cuisine. Named after a coastal town in Southern India the vibrant menu draws crowds.
